Placement and Training Cell
The Institute has a full time placement cell to provide counseling and assistance to our students in finding right type of career opportunities. The cell has a strong network with the leading Industries and research institutes all over India. It also regularly invites companies for campus placements. Our past and present students have found very lucrative placements in many leading companies, like Alembic Ltd., Apollo Hospital, Biocon Ltd., Biological E Ltd., Cipla Laboratories Ltd., Coca Cola, Colgate Palmolive Ltd., Dr. Lal Pathology Labs, Dr. Morepen Laboratories Ltd., Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd. to name a few. Similarly many of our students are serving with excellence in leading research institutes of the country namely AIIMS, TIFR, CDRI, IARI, FRI and CSIR. We are proud that our graduates and post graduates are also excelling in leading hospitals like Fortis, Apollo, Kailash and Medanta.
Objectives
- To achieve maximum possible placements for students.
- To guide students on various interview techniques, group discussions, aptitude tests.
- To put Dolphin (PG) Institute, Dehra Dun on the ‘Definite’ list of top companies and industries of India.
- To explore self employment opportunities for enterprising students so as to make them job Providers of tomorrow.
The training and counseling office also look after training programmes and opportunities for students to undertake their dissertation work and summer trainings, which are mandatory as per university norms.
The Placement and Training cell provides the formal support base for placement of final year students in the form of arranging campus interviews and grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge. The institute is equipped with a conference hall for holding pre-placement discussions and well furnished rooms for conducting interviews.
The Placement Office is fully computerized; it uses desktop computers and Institute LAN facility for placement data handling and communication.
The staff of the Placement cell includes student representatives of various disciplines who form the ‘Core Committee’. The ‘Core Members’ headed by the Chief and Sr. Placement Managers who effectively manage the working of the cell.
Placement Activities
Invitations are sent to the prospective companies/ industries (along with all relevant information) to participate in the campus recruitment. Regular correspondence is maintained with the prospective employers. Personal visits by the Training and Placement Managers to several companies and industries also serve to build and maintain relations with the corporate world.

Student’s data base
The cell maintains a department-wise list of industries / hospitals to enter into liaison for placement of students. The cell also encourages students to approach the companies independently in case the company does not have a policy of campus recruitment.
The cell maintains a branch-wise resumes of all current final year students in a data base. Depending on the requirements prescribed by the company/ industry/ hospital, the eligible candidates are invited to appear for the test/interview conducted by the visiting companies.
The P & T cell also maintains a list of former students (alumni) and forward this list to companies who specifically need pass-out students or try to hold job interviews for them in campus itself.
Career Development Programmes:
Dolphin Industrial Orientation Certificate Programme-2013 (DIOCP)
It is a unique ad- on- programme introduced for developing job oriented skills in the students of the institute. The curriculum has been developed in such a way so as to give an edge to our students while being considered for placement by various industries.
The major thrust areas are:
- Subject updates for interviews
- Interactive sessions with Industries HR/ technical persons
- Personality Development Initiatives
The DIOCP is of 03 months duration and primarily meant for the the PG Final year students from all streams. A Course completion Certificate is issued to the successful students.
MOU signed between Dolphin Institute & Drug Manufacturers Association of Uttarakhand:
A historical MOU was signed on 11th March, 2011 between Dolphin (PG) Institute and the Drug Manufacturers Association, Uttarakhand on Training and Placement of students. The MOU caters for project training for research and will offer job opportunities in industries.
MOU with Uttarakhand Industries Association
On 26th November 2011, another landmark MOU was signed between Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical and Natural sciences, Dehradun and Industries Association of Uttarakhand (an apex body of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Industries of Uttarakhand) for the purpose of jointly enriching the technical and educational process and for promoting the industrial advancements.
