The Training & Placement Cell of the Dolphin (PG) Institute organized a one day “Career Manthan” Programme for the final year Post Graduate students from the Departments of Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharma-chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Zoology, Botany etc. in order to acquaint them about the environment in the industry, alumni of Dolphin who are well placed in Pharma, Food Beverage, Health Care, FMCG sector participated in the program.
In his inaugural address Shri Arvind Gupta, Chairman called upon the ex and the current students to fill up the communication gap and differences in opinion of Industry & Academia. He also said that Dolphin Institute is always taken initiative to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia. But this can be more successful if the students also come forward to actively participate in the same.
Dr. Shailja Pant, Principal said that Industry, Research, Academia are all complementary to each other. The students can pursue in any of these fields as per their experience and for this they can always to be guidance from their seniors and teachers.
Dr. Ashok Kumar, Chief Manager, Training & Placement said that there is a shortage of skilled and stable manpower in the industry. He also said that students aim high but are not readily available to work at ground level. He said that in the initial years students should give priority on gaining experience rather on their salary package. Dr. Arun Kumar, Director welcomed all the alumni.
Shri Manu Sharma from Pulse Pharma, Roorkee, Shri Viraj Singh and Shri Ferhan Ali from IGL, Shri Vivek Sati from Jubilent Pharmaceuticals Roorkee, Ms. Neelam from Preetam Internationa Ltd. Roorkee, Shri Murlidhar Maharo from Marico India Ltd., Shri Ravikand Sharma from Sun Pharmaceuticals Paunta Sahib (HP), Shri Zafar Ali from nectar Life Sciences, Punjab and Shri Akhilesh from Troika Pharmaceuticals ltd., Ahmedabad (Gujarat) have shared their experiences and answered the queries of final year students like right priorities in career, experiences of face to face interviews, various changes related to the first job and changes in life style, politics in work place, initial stages in work place, sentimental and professional memories, day to day success and failures, source of strength, objective of progress etc.
The main organizer of the program was Dr. Ashok Singh, Manager Training & Placement. In this occasion Shri Arvind Gupta, Chairman, Dr. Shailja Pant Principal, Dr. Arun Kumar, Director, HODs and other faculty members of all departments and students were present.
