Field: New Forest environ, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun
Faculty: Prof. Sas. Biswas (Forestry), Dr. Shiva Jauhari (Subject teacher from Agric.) and Dr. Morajdhwaj (Hortic.)
Objective: a Field study on “Heritage bio- aesthetic planting, avenue, grove and landscaping” of New Forest ( FRI campus), Dehradun.
– Choice of species wrt tree architecture, maintenance, and environmental attributes
– Landscaping of heritage golf ground of FRIMA ( FRI + Indian Military Academy) in the backdrop of pristine forest.
– Study visit of Post-independence & FRI centenary year innovations such as “Green Theatre” commemorative planting by 1st President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister & others
– Interactive discussion with student participants in “Mango Grove” behind palatial FRI main building
– Sui generis, a research initiative on the conversion of bio-aesthetics into digital virtuality.
