Representation of Dolphin Institute at HESCO
Prof. Sas. Biswas Department of Forestry represented Dolphin Institute at HESCO, Dehradun, a pioneer NGO of India for the conservation of the Himalayan environment and bio-resource on 20th May 2019. The purpose was to interact with Secretary, Dr Renu Swarup and Dr Advisor, Dr Minakshi of Deptt of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt of India, scientists of HESCO & other organisations and the communities funded by DBT thru HESCO for development and integration of traditional techniques in production and harvesting of local varieties of crops of agricultural, animal husbandry, horticulture, floriculture importance. BSc Forestry (4th year, 8th semester) of Dolphin Institute students of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan and Nepal interacted and learnt from communities making live demo of the progress and the authorities reviewing with a view to study on pertinent issues in their respective states and country for possibility of startups.
