World Suicide Prevention Day is an annual event observed worldwide on September 10th. It serves as a day to raise awareness about suicide, its causes and prevention. In a bid to raise awareness, foster a culture of compassion, and support The Dolphin Institute commemorated World Suicide Prevention Day on 6th September 2023, with a creative and thought-provoking skit performance aimed at enlightening students about the significance of mental health and suicide prevention.
The skit titled ‘Break the silence, save lives’ was performed by the students themselves. It portrayed real life scenarios and struggles faced by individuals dealing with mental health challenges and suicidal thoughts. The performance emphasized the importance of open communication, empathy and seeking professional health. The skit depicted a powerful message of hope, resilience, and the significance of reaching out to others in the times of distress. It resonated with the audience as it highlighted relatable situations that students might encounter in their own lives.By combining understanding, compassion, and support with education the DolphinInstitute has taken a significant step towards breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
