Prof. Sas. Biswas of Department of Forestry of Dolphin PG Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences, Dehradun, Uttarakhand was represented in a National Seminar on Climate Change in context to ” Environmental Monitoring & Management for Building Climate Resilience” sponsored by DST, Govt. of India & organized by Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI), Govt. of Karnataka from 24-25 January 2019 at Bengaluru.
Prof. Biswas presented Lead Paper on ” Developing Resilience of Forest & Dependent Communities to the Impacts of Climate Change in Uttarakhand Himalayas” in a Technical Session. He was one of panelists of a plenary session along with present Shri Sridhar IFS, PCCF cum HoFF SFD Karnataka; Dr Ritu IFS, DG EMPRI ; Dr Singh IFS Rtd. PCCF cum HoFF, Karnataka; and Dr Rao ex Director, IWST (ICFRE), Bengaluru. An interaction of Dr Biswas with delegates from 18 states and the forestry experts of south Indian states aimed at joint venture in research and training and inter- organizational meetings and cooperation on cross cutting issues of common interest and expertise on climate change mitigation and resilience involving forestry & allied fields’ faculty and students.
