The Dawn of a NEW Era - D.I.B.N.S. is now an AUTONOMOUS COLLEGE

We, Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Science, Dehradun, is conferred with the Autonomous status by University Grants Commission (UGC) vide its letter No. F.2-10/2023(AC-Policy) dated 13/11/2023.

Our Parent University, Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (A Central University)has also notified the conferment of the autonomous status vide Notification No.HNBGU/Affiliation/2024/475 dated 18-3-2023.

We hereby commit –

  1. Implementing autonomy in different aspects and affairs of the college through transparent and consultative process.
  2. Recognise Autonomy as an opportunity to review, reform and reorientour teaching process. We believe that our distinctive democratic, liberal, secular, cosmopolitan, and humanitarian ethos will provide the most conducive ambience for autonomy to flourish, grow and bears ample fruits.
  3. Credibility of an autonomous institute depends on the credibility of its evaluation and assessment procedure through fair examination system. We will evolve a procedure of examination and evaluations that strikes a balance between every aspectof a student’s class learning and skill developmentthrough a continuous and consistent process.
  4. Accept the standards established and communicated by Parent University regarding conduct of study programs and conferment of Degrees.
  5. Fulfil and go beyond the minimum standards prescribed by the Parent University/UGC/Statutory Councils in terms of teaching hours, curricular content and its quality and shall inform the Parent University accordingly.
  6. Always facilitate the visit of University Expert Team for the purpose of maintenance of standards of Academic excellence.
  7. Time bound schedule for assessments/examination and notification of the result.
  8. Abide by all provisions of UGC regulations for Autonomous Colleges.

We recognise this great opportunity as a boon for the students enrolled with us as we will no longer be boundto teach a syllabus format which don’t precisely meets the prevailing industry requirement as they are always evolving. It is undeniable that a longer chain of command and approval for necessary changes at various stages will always lead to precious time lost by the students, however this gap is now bridged. We will provide student centric wide choices of programmes with freedom to design personal curriculum as per the needs of the job market.

We will now freely be able to curate and design the syllabus which not only meet the minimum required standards set by the different statutory bodies in India as well as the State but also go beyond the limits prescribed and bring necessary and adequate changes to the teaching methodology and the syllabus helping our students to accept and achieve any challenges confidently which they will face during and even after the completion of their programme.

Our mode of examination and marking schemes will also be made in a way which will make sure the students are engrossed in their education, learning various aspects of the skills development their Programme has to offer.

Power of Autonomy if used earnestly and in consonance with the concerned regulations and notifications will lead to an environment benefitting all the stake holders and ultimately contribute to the Nations economy.
