Training Cum Certification Programme on Food Safety
One day Training Cum Certification programme on Food Safety Supervisor’s by Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) was organised by the Department of Horticulture on 1st June 2019.Mr.Sunil Kaul and Mr.V K Nagpal, Additional Directors of Dolphin (PG) Institute alongwith Dr. Ritu Pandey,Dr. Kanika Issar and Dr.Morajdhwaj Singh joined the certification programme as well.Dr.Satish Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology, G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar was the Trainer for this programme.It is a proud moment for all of us that our students had also been evaluated as a Food Safety supervisor.The session lasted for 8 hours and there were two rounds of evaluation. The students have to achieve 50 percent marks during the evaluation and certificates will be issued online from FSSAI, New Delhi. This training has been made mandatory by the Ministry of Food Processing Industry that before starting a food business in a food industry whether it is a businessman or a student should be a qualified Food Safety Supervisor till October 2019.
