Forestry students of MSc 1st year of Dolphin PG Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences, Dehradun under the guidance of Prof. Sas Biswas and Dr Vikaspal Singh carried out following field excercise on Survey, Inventorization and characterization for Rapid Biodiversity Impact Assessment (RBIA) of micro-habitats under the impact of man- made and natural factor like climate change in Rajpur Range of Mussoorie hills, Uttarakhand.
Students conducted eco-floristic exercise in prestine sal (Shorea robusta) forest to assess the changes in biodiversity in 20 X 20 m quadrate.
PG students of Forestry spotted 35 species including obnoxious invasive and camphor saplings occurring naturally.
Microhabitat along the 150 + years old heritage Moon Bridge depicts population of invasive alien species of Lantana, Parthenium, Solanum, Eupatorium etc establishing and invading into the zone of indigenous forest flora.
